For every three brackets (seats) you purchase as part of a bulk-rate discount for a single participant, you'll receive one complimentary entry into the 2025 Pick 5 contest. A 6+ bracket package earns two Pick 5 entries, etc. Shortly after you pay your qualifying entry fee, your name will appear on the alphabetical roster (by last name), linked at the top of this page. If you purchased 6+ brackets, your entries will appear as #1 and #2 on the roster, etc.
If you participated in the Pick 5 contest in 2023 or 2024, you'll be automatically registered for the 2025 Pick 5 after purchasing your qualifying bracket package. If you have not participated -- that is, you haven't purchased at least three brackets in either of the last two Bread Pools -- simply register using the link below.
As for the actual contest, Pick 5 is simplicity itself: Pick any five teams from the main bracket of 64; for every win those teams produce, you'll receive the points that correlate to their seed #. For instance, if one of your teams is 6th-seeded UCLA and the Bruins advance to the Elite Eight before being eliminated, you'll receive 18 points for their three wins (6 + 6 + 6). And so on, for all five teams. Most points wins $1,000!
Although they employed vastly different strategies en route to claiming our first two Pick 5 contests, the father & son duo of Nate Cressman (Greensboro, NC) and Ty Cressman (Greensboro, NC) were fueled to their $1,000 victories by common means: identifying one of their tournament's Cinderella teams. For Nate, a one-time goaltender for Bowling Green's hockey team, it was national runner-up San Diego State; for Ty, who was a year removed from his final season as a forward for Auburn's basketball Tigers when he won his Pick 5, it was Final Four phenom NC State.
