PICK ONE GOLFER FROM EACH OF 6 TIERS TO COMPRISE YOUR 6-MAN TEAM
Tiers 1-5 are composed of 10 golfers each, with the remaining 106 golfers that will tee off at Royal Troon, Scotland Pon Thursday (July 18) assigned to Tier 6. The screen shot above is from June's U.S. Open Pool.
THROW OUT YOUR 2 WORST SCORES
Only your top four scores count. In this screenshot of the 6-man team picked by our Masters Tournament Pool champion, Jay Hansen (Bloomfield Hills, MI), Corey Conners (Tier 4) and Denny McCarthy (Tier 5) were jettisoned. His remaining foursome combined for a 13-under, good for our title and $2,000. Over the four days of the tournament, your top four players may fluctuate from hole-to-hole.
MISSING THE CUT
Any of your six golfers missing the 36-hole cut will be assigned third- and fourth-round scores equivalent to the highest score turned in by a qualifying golfer during those two days. In this screenshot of the 6-man team picked by last-place finisher Darrin Rose (Lutz, FL) in April's Masters Tournament, four of his players failed to make the cut. As you can see, all four cut players were assigned a third round score of 82 and a final-round score of 80. Those scores match the worst scores turned in on Saturday (82 by four players, including Tiger Woods) and Sunday (80 by Tony Finau). That's irrelevant, since anyone who has to include a cut player(s) among his top four scorers has no chance for a payday.
