Per our 30-year tradition, we avoid offending the online payment platforms by not being brazen about gambling transactions. In fact, we've developed an entire subculture around our "annual St. Patrick's Day Feast." If you feel the need to make a notation on either your payment -- Venmo is the only of the BP's four vendors that requires you to do so -- you should refer to "seats," never brackets. As in "two seats for me and one for my friend John Smith. Pass the corned beef!" So while you're free to have fun with your St. Paddy-centric notations, 95% of transactions are obvious enough not to require any comment. The exceptions: you're paying for another or your payment account doesn't correlate to your name.

While the world of sports gambling has undergone a radical change in the past six years, there's still no need to tempt fate where PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay or Zelle policies on gambling transactions are concerned. Here are some words and phrases that should NEVER be entered into a payment notation on either platform.
Any transactions that tip your hand will be rejected by the Bread Pool.

For the vast majority of returning BreadHeads, payments to the Bread Pool/Meadow of Shame are locked in the Friends & Family mode if you use PayPal or Venmo. For rookies and others who need a refresher, please DO NOT use the Goods & Services option on either platform, because it deducts fees from this end, not from you. If you need to pay with a business account that automatically deducts a fee from the recipient or have your personal account loked in Goods & Services mode, please add 2% to your transaction.

FACTOID: Since we initiated discounts on multiple-bracket purchases and introduced Pick 5 in 2023, 71% of BreadHeads have purchased the 3-bracket package ($195) over the past three years.
